Rink Directions

All players on KYHC travel teams play “away” games during the season.  The following are directions to rinks most frequented by our members.  All directions originate from Keene.  Travel times listed are approximate and may vary based on construction, winter weather or other circumstances; it is always safer to plan extra time  Directions may also be found at http://www.arenamaps.com.

The directions are listed in alphabetical order by rink state location.

• Andover, NH- Proctor Academy.  31 Fieldhouse Ln, 735-6254.  Take Rt. 10 North to Newport, then Rt. 11 East to I-89 South to Exit 11.  Resume on Rt. 11 East to Andover.  In the town of Andover, a large field surrounded by a white fence is on the right.  Across the road from the field is the Proctor Academy fieldhouse; the rink is behind the fieldhouse.  OR take Rt. 9 East to Rt. 114 North at Henniker to Rt. 11 East.  Travel time: 1 hour, 30 minutes.
• Berlin, NH Notre Dame Arena.  Hillside Ave, 752-9846.  Take Rt. 9 East to I-93 North.  Stay on I-93N through Franconia Notch to Exit 35. Take Rt. 3 North to Carroll.  Turn right onto Rt. 115.  Turn right onto Rt. 2 East toward Berlin-Gorham.  Turn left onto Rt. 16 North to Berlin.  Once in Berlin, Main St. is a one way street.  Entering downtown, bear left in front of Northway Bank onto Green St. (Dunkin’ Donuts is on your left).  Straight through lights under RR bridge (Berlin Police Dept. is on left ). Bear right at for at end of Green St, follow to railroad tracks.  NDA is on left behind Chinese restaurant.  [NOTE: for winter 2006-07 RR underpass is closed.  Follow detour right on Cole St. to stop sign, take left on York St. take left at traffic lights on Hillside Ave.  NDA is on your right]  Alternate route to Berlin: Take I-91 North (Vermont) to I-93 South to Littleton.  Rt. 2 East to Gorham.  Rt. 16 North to Berlin.  Travel time: 3 hours.Concord, NH- Everett Arena.  15 Loudon Rd, 228-2784.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to exit 14 (Loudon Rd/Concord Heights).  Take right off of ramp.  Everett Arena is ¼ mile on left.  Travel time: 1 hour, 15 minutes.
• Conway, NH- Ham Arena.  87 W. Main St, 447-5886.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to exit 23.  Follow Rt. 25 through Meredith to Rt. 16N to Conway.  Turn right onto W. Main St. (across from Kennett High School).  Ham Arena is 1/5 mile on left.  Travel time: 3 hours. **Please note: Ham Arena is in Conway, NH and Conway Arena is in Nashua, NH.  Be certain who you are playing and where you are going.
• Dover, NH- Dover Ice Arena.  110 Portland Ave, 516-6060.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to Exit 15E (I-393E/Rt.4E/Rt.202E).Take Rt. 4E to Rt. 155 exit (about 1 mile east of Lee traffic circle).  Go left at bottom of ramp, take 155 to Dover (passing Spaulding Turnpike).  Rt. 155 becomes Rt. 9 and Silver Street.  Follow Silver St. to its end at Central Ave lights.  Take a left at the lights.  Take a right at the next lights (near Foster’s daily Democrat).  Follow sharp left curve (between the mills), then bear right as you climb hill onto Portland Ave. Arena is less than one mile up hill on your left.  Travel time: 2 hours, 10 minutes.Durham, NH- Oyster River/Jackson’s landing ice rink.  9 Old Piscataqua Rd, 868-3907.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to Exit 15E (I-393/Rt.4E/Rt.202E).  Follow Rt. 4E to Rt. 108.  Turn right at end of ramp onto Rt. 108.  Follow Rt. 108 for less than 100 yards, turn left onto Old Piscataqua Rd.  Jackson’s Landing Rink is immediately on the right (cold, outdoor rink).  Travel time:  2 hours.
• Durham, NH- Whittemore Center Arena (UNH).  128 Main St.  862-1379.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to Exit 15E (I-393E/Rt.4E/Rt.202E).  Follow Rt. 4E to exit for 155-A (UNH campus).  Follow Main St. between athletic fields over railroad overpass.  Whittemore Center is on your left.  Travel time:  2 hours.Exeter, NH- The RINKS at Exeter.  40 Industrial Dr, 775-7423.  Rt. 101 East to Exit 9 (Exeter/Rt. 27).  Take right off of ramp onto Rt. 27 (Epping Rd.).  Travel ½ mile, take first left onto Industrial Dr, RINKS is first driveway on left.  Travel time: 1 hour, 30 minutes.
• Exeter, NH- Phillips Exeter Academy Rink.  Court St, 772-4311 Ext. 4403.  Rt. 101 East to Exit 11 (this is the third Exeter exit).  Turn right onto Rt. 108 South (Portsmouth Ave).Follow ½ mile to junction of Rt. 27 and Rt. 111.  Turn Right at the lights (staying on Rt. 108).  Proceed west ¼ mile to Front St.  Turn left onto Front St. (still Rt. 108) around bandstand in downtown, turn left onto Court St. (still Rt. 108).  Turn left onto Gillman St. (at tennis courts).  Park on left side near tennis courts; cement steps on right take you to rink.  Travel time: 2 hours.
• Goffstown, NH- Sullivan Arena (St. Anselm College).  Rundlett Hill Rd, 222-4266.  Rt. 101 East to Bedford.  Left at traffic lights onto Rt. 114 North.  Take right onto St Anselm Drive (campus is approximately 1 mile on right). Follow signs for Sullivan Arena.  Travel time:  1 hour 15 minutes.
• Hanover, NH- James Campion Skating Rink.  Rt. 10 (W Lebanon), 643-1222.  I-91 North to Exit 13 (Hanover).  Cross Connecticut River and climb hill into Hanover  Take right at lights onto Main St (which is also Rt. 10).  Travel South toward W. Lebanon.  Rink is about one mile south of Hanover on your left.  Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
• Henniker, NH- Lee Clement Arena (New England College).  29 Bridge St, 428-8231.  Rt. 9 East to Henniker Exit.  Take Rt. 114 south.  Turn right after New England College library.  Turn right onto a dirt road and go left down the hill.  Rink is on your right.  Travel time: 50 minutes.
• Hooksett, NH- Ice Den Arena.  600 Quality Drive, 668-0795.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93S to Exit 10 (toll is 75 cents).  Follow Rt. 3A North to traffic lights.  Turn right onto Quality Dr. and follow down hill.  Arena is on left behind BJ’s.  Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes.Hooksett, NH- Tri-Town Arena and Dental Center.  311 West River Rd. (Rt. 3A), 485-1100.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93S to Exit 11 (toll is 50 cents).  Turn left at stop sign after toll booth towards Hooksett.  Turn Right at next Stop sign onto Rt. 3A.  Tri-Town is about ½ mile on left.  Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
• Laconia, NH- Laconia Ice Arena.  444 Province Rd. (Rt 107), 528-0789.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to Exit 15E (I-393E/Rt.4E/Rt.202E).  Exit at Rt. 106 to Laconia.  In Laconia, take Rt. 107 South.  Rink is ½ mile on your left.  Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
• Manchester, NH- JFK Coliseum.  303 Beech St, 624-6567.  Rt 101 East to Bedford.  At intersection with Route 114, Continue straight through lights onto Boynton St towards downtown.  At 6 way intersection (Sully’s Square) continue onto So Main St.  Take a right onto Woodbury St. and cross the Queen City Bridge  At second lights, take right onto Valley Street.  At the fifth lights, turn left onto Maple Street (Gill Stadium is on left).  At the end of the ballfiels turn left.  JFK Coliseum is on the left.  Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
• Manchester, NH- Verizon Wireless Arena.  555 Elm St, 644-5000.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93S to I-293.  Exit 6 (Downtown) Take either Canal or Elm St.  Follow signs for “Civic Arena.”  Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes.Manchester, NH-  West Side Arena.  1 Electric St, 624-6428.  Rt. 101 East to Bedford  At Intersection with Route 114, continue straight through lights onto Boynton St. towards downtown.  At 6 way intersection, make a half left, leaving Daily Harvest Market to the right.  This is south Main St.  Continue 1.25 miles, past Catholic Medical Center.  Pass straight throught he lights with St. Mary’s bank on the left.  Turn left at the next yellow blinking light onto Bremer Street.  Follow for one mile and turn left when the road ends; this will lead to the arena parking lot.  Travel time: 1 hour 20 minutes.
• Meriden, NH- Kimball Union Academy.  Main St, 469-3211.  Rt. 12N to Claremont.  Left onto Rt. 120N at Golden Cross Ambulance Building.  Turn right at next lights.  Pass hospital and continue on Rt. 120N for about 14 miles.  Turn left at blinking light (with athletic fields on left) into KUA.  Akerstom Arena is a brick building on the hill on the right.  Travel time:  1 hour 30 minutes.
• Nashua, NH- Conway Arena.  8 Riverside St, 595-2400.  Rt. 101E to Rt. 101A to Nashua.  Rt. 3S to exit 5W (Rt. 111W); you will see Nashua High School on the right.  Turn right at end of ramp and take second right onto Panther Dr.  Nashua Police Department is on your right and Conway Arena is straight ahead of you, through the stop sign.  Travel time: 1 hour 15 minutes.  ** Please Note:  Ham Arena is in Conway, NH and Conway Arena is in Nashua, NH.  Be certain who you are playing and where you are going.
• New Hampton, NH- New Hampton School.  1 Main St, 677-3400.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N.  North on I-93 to Exit 23 (about 30 miles).  Turn left, pass under highway, and take an immediate left turn onto Shingle Camp Road.  Turn right onto Dr. Child’s Road.  Lindsay Ice Arena is about 500 yards up on the right.  Players and spectators enter the rink from different ends; the rink is open at both ends and can be quite cold.  Travel time: I hour 45 minutes.
• Tilton, NH- Tilton School.  School Lane, 286-4342.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N.  North on I-93 to Exit 20 (about 20 miles).  Turn right off exit onto Rt. 11W (also US Rt. 3).  Follow into town; turn right onto School Street, the right onto School Lane.  MacMorran field House is 100 yards ahead on left.  Travel time:  1 hour 30 minutes.
• Rochester, NH- Rochester YMCA.  63-A Lowell St, 335-6749.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to Exit 15E (I-393E/Rt 4E/Rt 202E).  Rt. 202E to Rochester (turning left at lights in Northwood).  After passing under Spaulding Turnpike, turn right onto Brock St.  Turn left onto Rt. 125 at end of Brock St.  Straight through two sets of lights, then sharp right onto Lowell St.  YMCA Rink is on the right.  Travel time:  2 hours.
• Salem, NH- IceCenter.  60 Lowell Rd (Rt. 38), 893-4448.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93S to Exit 2 (Salem/Pelham).  At end of ramp, turn right onto Main St.  At second set of lights, turn right onto South Policy St.  Turn right onto Rt. 38.  IceCenter is ½ mile down on right.  Travel time: 1 hour 40 minutes.
• Waterville Valley, NH.  Rt. 49/Town Square, 236-4813. Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to Exit 28.  Follow Rt. 49 for 11 miles to resort village.  Pass ski area and follow around pond (on left).  Turn left at “Town Square” sign.  Waterville Valley Ice Arena is on the left.  Travel time: 2 hours 15 minutes.
• Wolfeboro, NH- Pop Whalen Arena.  390 Pine Hill Rd. (Rt. 109A), 569-5639.  Rt. 9E to I-89S to I-93N to Exit 15E (I-393E/Rt. 4E/Rt. 202E).  Follow Rt. 4E for 9 miles to rotary.  Take Rt. 28 North (3/4 way around the circle) about 31.5 miles to Wolfeboro.  Turn right at “The Corner Store” (still Rt. 28).  Bear left at fork onto Rt. 109A.  The rink is set back in the woods on the left, 2.2 miles ahead.  Travel time: 2 hours 10 minutes.

• Massachusetts
• Amherst, MA- Orr Rink at Amherst College.  Rt. 116S, 413-542-7950.  Rt. 10S to Northfield, MA. Continue straight at Rt. 10/Rt 63 junction on Rt. 63 for 15 miles to Amherst, MA.  In Amherst, turn left at stop sign onto North Pleasant Street.  Continue through lights and past UMASS Campus.  When road seems to end, turn left, then turn right at second stop sign (still N. Pleasant St.).  Straight through three traffic lights, then Orr Rink is less than ½ mile on the left.   Alternate route:  I-91S to Exit 20.  Rt. 9E over the Calvin Coolidge Bridge.  5 ½ miles on Rt. 9E to traffic light, then right onto Rt. 116S (South Pleasant St.), Orr Rink is .3 miles on left.   Travel time:  1 hour 10 minutes.
• Amherst, MA- Mullins Center at UMASS.  Commonwealth Ave, 413-545-3990.  Rt. 10S to Northfield, MA.  Continue straight at Rt. 10/Rt. 63 junction on Rt. 63 for 15 miles to Amherst, MA.  In Amherst, turn left at stop sign onto North Pleasant Street.  Continue through lights to UMASS Campus.  Turn Right at traffic light onto Commonwealth Ave.  Mullins Center is ½ mile on right  Travel time:  1 hour 10 minutes.
• Ashburnham, MA- Iorio Arena at Cushing Academy.  39 School St, 978-827-7761.  Rt. 12S through Winchendon, MA to Ashburnham, MA.  Cushing Academy is on right as you come down hill into town.  Turn right onto campus, then right up hill to Iorio Arena.  Travel time: 45 minutes.
• Fitchburg, MA- Wallace Civic Center.  1000 John Fitch Hwy, 978-345-7593.  Rt. 12S to Fitzwilliam.  Left onto Rt. 119E to Ashby, MA.  East of Ashby, stay straight, now on Rt. 31 (Rt. 119 made a sharp left turn, you kept going straight).  4.4 miles on Rt. 31, turn left.  Wallace Civic Center is one mile ahead on left.  Travel time:  45 minutes.
• Gardner, MA- Veterans Skating Rink.  45 Veterans Dr, 978-632-4310.  Rt. 12S to Winchendon, MA.  Rt. 140 to exit for “Gardner, Mt. Wachusett Comm. College.”  Drive past college on you left and hospital on your right to rotary.  Bear right at rotary onto Rt. 101S.  Bear right at fork and turn right into rink.  Travel time: 45+ minutes.
• Greenfield, MA- Collins-Moylan Arena.  5 Barr Ave, 413-772-6891.  I-91S to Exit 27 (first Greenfield exit); it is a LEFT exit for Rt. 2E.  Take first exit to Rt. 5S/Rt. 10S.  Take right at and of ramp and then turn right at traffic lights.  Follow signs for Greenfield High School.  Rink is at the rear of parking lot between GHS and football field.  Travel time:  45 minutes.
• Groton, MA- Grant Rink at Lawrence Academy.  55 Powder House Rd, 978-448-6535.  Rt. 12S to Fitzwilliam.  Left onto Rt. 119E to Groton, MA.  Lawrence Academy is on left; rink is on hill, behind other buildings.  Travel time:  1 hour 15 minutes.
• Groton, MA- Pratt Rink at Groton School.  Farmers Row, 978-448-3369.  Rt. 12S to Fitzwilliam.  Left onto Rt. 119E to Groton, MA.  Right onto Rt. 111S.  Groton School is 1.4 miles on right.  Follow signs for athletic facilities.  Travel time:  1 hour 15 minutes.
• Marlboro, MA- New England Sports Center.  121 Donald Lynch Blvd, 508-229-2700.  Rt. 12S to Winchendon, MA to Rt. 140S to Rt. 2E.  Merge onto I-190S via Exit 33 to “Lemoinster/Worcester.”  Take Exit 7 for “Lancaster” (Rt. 117E).  Merge onto I-495S for “Marlboro/Taunton.”  Merge onto I-290W, “Worcester.”  Exit 25B “Solomon Pond Road.”  Turn right onto Solomon Pond Mall Rd and take first right onto Donald Lynch Blvd.  Follow two miles to N.E. Sportce Center (on left).  Travel time:  1 hour 30 minutes.
• Tyngsboro, MA- Skate 3 Arena.  355 Middlesex Rd, 978-649-7912.  Rt. 101E to Rt. 101A to Nashua.  Rt. 3S to Exit 1, “Spit Brook Road East.”  Turn right onto DW Hwy South at end of Spit Brook Rd.  Skate 3 is on left, 2 mile south of Pheasant Lane Mall.  Travel time:  1 hour 30 minutes.
• Winchendon, MA-  Clark Memorial Rink.  155 Central St, 978-297-0102.  Rt. 12S to Winchendon, MA  Turn left onto Central St (at Cumberland farms).  Rink is ¼ mile down Central St, on right.  Travel time:  35 minutes.

• Vermont
• Brattleboro, VT- Nelson/Whitington Skating Rink.  Living Memorial Park, 802-257-2311.  Rt. 9W to I-91S to Exit 2 (Rt. 9W).  Turn right onto Rt. 9 and left through covered bridge.  Memorial Park in on the right; Arena is on the second level. Please note:  Brattleboro Police have advised that as of 12/4/2006, the Creamery Bridge will be closed for repairs until June 2007; detour via Maple Street for 2006-2007 season.  Travel time:  30 minutes.
• Burlington, VT- Gutterson Field House at UVM.  Spear St, 802-656-3074.  I-91N to I-89N at White River Junction, VT.  I-89N to Exit 14 (Rt.2W).  Turn right from Rt. 2W onto East Ave.  Get into left lane immediately to circle back across Rt. 2 onto Spear St.  Turn right into the arena.  Travel time: 2 hours 30 minutes.
• Burlington, VT- Pauquette Memorial Arena.  216 Leddy Park Rd, 802-864-0123.  I-91N to I-89N at White River Junction, VT.  I-89N to Exit 13 (I-189E).  I-189E to Exit 1 (US Rt. 7).  US Rt. 7 to Pearl St.  Turn left onto Pearl St, right on to Battery St, left onto North St, and right onto North Ave.  Stay left on North Ave; turn left onto Leddy Park Rd.  Arena is on left.  Travel time:  2 hours 45 minutes.
• Lyndon Center, VT- Fenton Chester Arena.  Harris Hill Rd, 802-626-9361.  I-91N to Exit 23.  Take Rt. 5N and turn left immediately onto Back Center Rd.  Turn left at the Lyndon Institute; rink is on the left, opposite the Institute.  Travel time:  3 hours.
• Manchester, VT- Riley Rink at Hunter Park.  410 Hunter Park Rd (Rt. 7A), 802-362-0150.  I-91N to Exit 6.  Turn left onto Rt. 103N; follow to Chester.  Turn left onto Rt. 11 and follow to Manchester, VT.  Turn right onto Rt. 7A.  Turn left onto Hunter Park Rd; follow signs for the rink.  Travel Time:  1 hour 30 minutes.
• Middlebury, VT- Chip Kenyon Arena at Middlebury College.  South Main St. (Rt. 30), 802-443-5250.  I-91N to Exit 6.  Left onto Rt. 103N.  Right onto Rt. 7N to Middlebury.  West on Rt. 125 over bridge.  Straight on South Main St. (Rt. 30); arena is 1 mile ahead on the left.  Travel time: 2 hours 15 minutes.
• Rutland, VT- Royce Mandigo Arena at VT State Fairgrounds.  Dana Ave, 802-773-9416.  I-91N to Exit 6.  Left onto Rt. 103N.  Right onto Rt. 7.  Stay left and turn left onto Dana Drive after Hannaford’s.  Rink is at the end of Dana Dr.  Travel time: 1 hour 30 minutes.
• Rutland, VT- Rutland Regional Field House.  46 Diamond Run Mall Place, 802-775-3100.  I-91N to Exit 6.  Left onto Rt. 103N.  Right onto Rt. 7.  Turn right into Diamond Run Mall at the junction of Rt. 7 and Rt. 4W. Turn left onto the road that circles the mall.  Arena is on left.  Travel time:  1 hour 30 minutes.
• Saxton’s River, VT- Michael Choukas Rink at Vermont Academy.  Pleasant St, 802-869-6200.  Rt. 12N to N. Walpole.  Left at lights across river to Bellows Falls, VT.  Left onto Rt. 5S and then a right onto Rt. 121 to Saxton’s River.  In Saxton’s River, turn right onto Pleasant St, at VA entrance, then second left onto Shepard Ln. for the rink.  Travel time:  45 minutes.
• South Burlington, VT- Douglas Cairns Arena.  600 Swift St, Dorset Park, 802-658-5577.  I-91N to I-89N at White River Junction, VT.  I-89N to Exit 14E “South Burlington/Rt. 2.”  Continue East; take first right onto Dorset St.  Follow Dorset St. south for nearly 2 miles.  Rink is on the left at the top of the hill behind the ballfields.  Travel time:  2 hours 30 minutes.
• Woodstock, VT- Union Arena.  496 Woodstock Rd, 802-457-2500.  I-91N to I-89N at White River Junction, VT.  I-89N to Exit 1.  Left off ramp onto Rt. 4 to Woodstock Village.  Left into Woodstock Union High School; arena is at the end of parking lot on right.  Travel time:  1 hour 30 minutes.
• White River Junction, VT- Hartford Municipal Arena.  Highland Ave, 802-295-3236.  I-91N to Exit 12, “Wilder” (just north of White River Junction).  Right off of ramp, right at “T” intersection, then 4^th right into Hartford High School; rink is behind school.  Travel time: 1 hour 15 minutes.
