       As we come to the end of another year of hockey, the planning stages for next season are in full swing.  With the completion of our first girls’ season, we look to only grow and improve upon our current program. In order to do this, the early planning stages are crucial for getting the program even further off the ground.  Our goal for the girls’ program is to provide the same hockey experience that we have been providing for our other programs for years.  Unfortunately, due to the late start this past season, finding ice time and games was a challenge, to say the least.  This is why it is so critical to start the planning for next season now. 

            The most important piece to the planning is the commitment from parents and players.  For next season we are looking to practice once per weekend at Cushing Academy from early September until the beginning of November. In early November we will ramp up to full speed and practice two nights during the week, with games on weekends.  We are looking to put a 20 game schedule together for the season.  The cost for this program would be $575.00, based on 15 committed skaters.  The registration process is ongoing through March 11th.

            There will be two evaluation sessions for the girls’ program. All girls interested in playing next season are encouraged to attend both sessions.  Any girl that did not play this past season but is interested in trying out should also attend these two sessions. The sessions will be March 4th & 11th from 7:30 to 8:40pm.

            This program’s success hinges on the commitment level moving forward. If we are late in starting next season we face the same challenges as we did this past season.  Early commitment is key! I have attached a copy of the KYHC 2014-2015 registration form.
